If you want a 60 degree cut I had recommended a 60 degree thread mill. A multi rib thread mill would let you do them all at once. The problem is in the pic the cuts at not all the same length. You are correct that the end mill would give you a 90 angle not the 60 of your cutter or a thread mill. This would work in a vertical mill.
