The scope of this study is to evaluate the application of pre-drying technology in an existing lignite fired power plant, taking into account the load fluctuation during the day, i.e. the operation in partial loads during the day and the night when the power demand is reduced, unlike the full load operation during the evening.

In addition, changes of lignite pore structure, sulfur content, and calorific value were tested after drying experiment.
